Kale Chips Recipe. All Variations
Kale chips are very easy to make in your own kitchen!
Since I understood how simple and delicious homemade kale chips are, I am totally liberated from their severely narcissistically high-priced commercial counterparts: Nothing to it, and so much fun!
Big Flavor! Big Savings!
Not even a recipe, in fact! Here’s all you do:
Get a nice big bunch of kale.
Duh! Pretty good place to start.
Remove the stems, just as the picture below instructs you. Nonono, don’t throw them out: put them in a soup, so nothing goes to waste!
Wash the leaves and dry them thoroughly.
Toss them very lightly with a few drops of olive oil and sea salt to taste. Place them in one layer in a cookie sheet, and place the sheet in a preheated 275 degree oven. Bake about 25 minutes, or a little longer, until very crisp. Crisp is key, so take good care of this step, and don’t bake the kale chips past the crisp point, or they might burn!
Play with other kale chips flavors.
When you get the hang of it, you’ll find there’s nothing to it. Choose from the following exciting additions, one at a time please: ground flax seeds, chili powder, wasabi powder, minced garlic, ground cumin, ground ginger, a dusting of grated parmesan, nutritional yeast, and so on! Kale chips are delicious, nutritious and lean! You won’t need to wipe out an insanely rich bag of potato chips any more. There’s no harm – and no guilt – whatsoever in wiping out a whole batch of kale chips! Talk about healthy snacks!
